This was DELICIOUS. I did some serious modifying of this recipe, because my small people (and I) are particular and will not eat some of the ingredients in the original recipe (like mustard and hot sauce). I used all sharp cheddar cheese because that is what I had, and I thought the extra zing of sharp cheese would make up for the lack of other spices and flavorings. I was correct. It was good hearty comfort food, and we all loved it.
2. Whole Wheat Bread with Starter
This recipe was from the Our Daily Bread cookbook by Stella Standard. It appears that this book is out of print, but you can still find the odd copy on Amazon, Ebay, or your local used bookstore. It came out great and I will definitely make it again, doubling the recipe because this only makes one loaf.
This was delicious too, and a great use for leftover Thanksgiving turkey. I used dried onion and added some dried garlic. My young kids are not fantastic soup-eaters, but they did well enough and I would make this again.
This is hands down my go to pizza dough recipe. It is fantastic, and I have been using it for about three years. Uncle Jerry, you know how to make pizza dough. I can pull a pizza together in about 30 minutes, which in our area is quicker than getting a delivery. I also use this dough for flat breads, garlic knots, you name it. I may have even made it into a baguette once.
