5 Delicious Salmon Recipes

Cedar Plank Grilled Salmon
Oh salmon of the 90's, how I adore thee. My Dad used to make this on the BBQ for us, and since we don't make it any more, I've had to resort to having it far less frequently at the one local restaurant that still makes it. The flavors of salmon and cedar go SO well together. Take a plank of cedar wood (untreated) and put a piece of salmon on it, and put it on the grill just like that. You can add salt, pepper, lemon, butter, etc... but it's delicious plain with just a bit of salt!

Sweet & Sour Poached Salmon

Jamie Gellar's Sweet and Sour Poached Salmon

I first had this at our neighbor's house for a holiday feast, and it was so delicious I had to ask our host for the recipe. I've since made it at home multiple times, and it is really the most unique and delicious sweet and citrusy salmon. It is good with oranges and grapefruit too, if you prefer those to lemon.

Butter & Brown Sugar Broiled Salmon
This one doesn't even require a recipe really, you just sprinkle salt, brown sugar, and pats of butter on your salmon fillet and broil it in the oven for 12-20 min or until the edges just start to brown and crisp up. It's delicious and our go-to weeknight salmon dish since it is so quick to make.

Salmon with Dill Sauce

Another simple recipe. You can grill the salmon, or saute it in a pan with butter or olive oil. The dill sauce is a mix of yogurt (or sour cream), lemon juice, and fresh dill to taste. It's delicious and this cooling sauce is perfect for a hot summer day.

Foil Packet Salmon
This is a delicious salmon dish that steams in its own juices. You take cuts of salmon and wrap them in foil with salt, pepper, butter, and lemon slices. For filets, it'll be about 20 minutes in a 400 degree oven or on the grill. This dish can also be made in an open fire, but your cook time may vary.
